Choose to Re-Use This July
Since 2017, the Plastic Free July campaign has become a huge global movement helping millions of people become more aware of the problems we face with the overuse of plastics. More importantly, it shows us how we can be part of the solution to plastic pollution so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities - and it’s a campaign that’s very close to our hearts here at Dindi Naturals.
For the month of July, tens of thousands of people around the world will forgo plastic. Here are some simple ways that you can get on board and reduce your use of plastics this July:
SWAP SINGLE USE FOR REFILLABLE BOTTLES
An easy way to reduce your plastic use this July is to stop purchasing single use bottles. From shampoo and conditioners to hand wash or dish soap, at the supermarket or in a retail store, look for the refillable options.
If you’re stuck, here at Dindi Naturals, we offer refills* in both Yarck and Mornington stores for our hand + body wash, hand sanitisers and bubble baths.
SWAP PLASTIC FOR BAMBOO ITEMS
Another great way to reduce your use of plastic this July is to swap your plastic toothbrush or hairbrush out for a more sustainable option like bamboo. You can now find alternative options more easily. We offer a selection of non-plastic brushes, combes and toothbrushes in our retail stores at Yarck and Mornington if you need somewhere to start.
SWAP SINGLE USE CLING WRAP FOR REUSABLE CONTAINERS
Many schools have jumped on board and have asked parents to reduce their use of single use cling wrap for reusable bags or even better containers. A great way to start around the house is to swap your use of cling wrap with natural alternatives like beeswax covers. Many retail outlets have started stocking them or you can google how to make your own.
Reusable containers now come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and material makeup. They really are worth the investment.
GET CREATIVE AND REUSE PACKAGING
Do you like getting creative? Packaging now comes in all shapes, sizes and materials. A gorgeous amber hand + body bottle makes a gorgeous single flower vase. Glass jars are perfect as candle holders and can create a gorgeous reflection perfect for mood lighting. Metal tins make a perfect little airtight storage compartment and perfect for when you’re camping or hiking.
So this July, why not join us in taking on the Plastic Free Challenge by eliminating one or more single-use plastic items and swapping it out for a more planet-friendly option. It’s easier than you think!
